The Perth International Burlesque Festival is an annual Burlesque event held in Perth, Western Australia. The festival will feature shows, late-night parties, markets, workshops, and other Burlesque related activities and entertainment in Perth and also will include a regional tour in 2016.

Running concurrently with the Australian Burlesque Festival season, the Perth International Burlesque Festival brings world-class international, interstate and local Burlesque acts to the Perth audience. A rare experience for the world’s most isolated capital city, the festival affords show go-ers the opportunity to experience Burlesque performance in styles that vary greatly and fantastically across nations, scenes, and personalities, and to support and engage with the local Burlesque scene in the process.

Presented by Coco Poppin and A'dora Derriere, the Perth International Burlesque Festival aims to both celebrate the local Burlesque community and facilitate creative links with international and interstate artists. The festival is supportive of the Perth Burlesque community as a whole, and is committed to enabling useful and inspiring ways for local performers to develop, open doors, and realise their uniqueness as artistes on the international scene.

Through performance, workshops, and social networking opportunities, the festival endeavours to provide an exciting event that is of personal and professional value for both local and touring artistes.

Above all, we look forward to presenting festival-goers with 2 weeks of titillating, mind-boggling, spectacular entertainment!

The Producers

A'dora Derriere

A'dora Derriere is the director of Sugar Blue Burlesque and has been performing, teaching and producing burlesque shows since 2007 after working as a costumiere and lingerie designer and production manager for 7 years. She is also currently the producer of the Miss Burlesque Western Australia competition and was an associate producer for the Perth Fringeworld Festival in 2011 and 2012.

A'dora's inspiration to produce a burlesque festival in her home town of Perth came from experiences of performing at various burlesque festivals around the world such as Australian, London, Paris, Montreal, New York and Stockholm. She has been living in the UK for several years now which is what gave her the inspiration to create this huge event through meeting amazing performers and producers around the world. It has been a great way to encourage international performers to come to Perth shores!

Coco Poppin

Coco Poppin is Director of Coco Cabana Dance and Co-Director of Retro Rocket Events. She is also the manager and a core troupe member of Sugar Blue Burlesque, and a member of The Beehives GoGo Dancers. Coco has directed numerous acclaimed and sold out Burlesque shows and interactive events, and programmed entertainment for Perth Fringeworld.

Her desire to co-produce PIBF comes from a love of teaching and being part of the Perth burlesque scene, and seeing communities and performers develop through exchange. She loves to tour regionally, and has also performed and taught in London, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Tokyo and Osaka. Also a trained Brazilian Samba performer and instructor, her samba troupes have performed at festivals, on stage and on screen.
