2015 Headliner - Medianoche

Adora Derriere - Wednesday, March 25, 2015

Described by the New York Times as “pure sexy”, Medianoche has been a staple in the New York City burlesque scene since 2008. Born and raised in southern Spain, she brings strong traces of tango and flamenco dance to her unique flavor of tease.

Medianoche was awarded First Runner-Up at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in las Vegas in 2014 – and was shortly after voted #6 in the world according to 21st Century Burlesque’s yearly Top 50 list. She has also been crowned Queen of Burlesque in New Orleans; won the coveted Crystal Corset Award in the Pennsylvania Burlesque Festival; and been awarded a Golden Pastie at the New York Burlesque Festival for her “alluring gaze”.

Medianoche has been featured in shows and festivals worldwide, from Chicago to Rome to St. Petersburg, Russia. A member of Dita von Teese’s “Strip Strip Hooray!” cast, Medianoche has also dazzled audiences alongside the World Famous Pontani Sisters.

Aptly dubbed “Sin in an Hourglass”, Medianoche is a regular performer with Wasabassco, and often graces stages as varied and prestigious as those of Duane Park, City Winery, Galapagos Art Space, Highline Ballroom, and the House of Blues.

2015 Headliner - Vicky Butterfly

Adora Derriere - Wednesday, March 25, 2015

Part Burlesque starlet, part innovative performance artiste, part music hall Vaudevillian, and all dreamer..

Vicky Butterfly’s beautifully choreographed routines take in everything from the ethereal and the breath-taking to the macabre and the erotic: her poetic and retro-futuristic performances evoke influences from the Pre-Raphaelites to surreal cinema.

With acts reflecting her bohemian background, she is notable as a real innovator, using contemporary technology alongside a richly decadent aesthetic and lavish showmanship: incorporating her background in theatrical design alongside training in disciplines including ballet and circus as well as an insatiable desire for literature and history.

In demand internationally from Paris to Bali, she has an enviable roster of clients (including Beefeater Gin, Roberto Cavalli, Kensington Palace, The Royal Academy of Art, the Casino di Venezia, the Moulin Rouge and the Paris Ritz), was the first burlesque performer to be booked to appear in a Bollywood film and can also be seen in the music videos and stadium projections of bands including The Verve, Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age and Paul Weller.

As well as being a cast member of the renowned "La Clique", Vicky is a co-creator and designer of the award-winning The Black Cat Cabaret.
